Memories and things I learned from Dad. (#11)

Rev. Williams and Dad were close friends, and he often stopped by our house to visit. I thought the world of him and always listened in on his and Dad’s conversations.

One morning as he was leaving, he asked me if I wanted to tag along as he ran some errands. As I ran to the house, I said, “yes, let me ask Mom.”

When I came back out, Dad said, “I could have saved you that trip to the house.”

As we drove away, Rev. Williams said, “I think you hurt your Dad’s feelings, Chris.” To this day, I still feel guilty for that.

The moral of the story: Dads can give permission too.
